Information About Vets Now Ltd »

Vets Now is dedicated to urgent critical care for cats, dogs and all other small pets and animals, so is particularly skilled at dealing with accidents and emergencies.

We're here to help pets and vets by providing emergency care when normal vets' surgeries are closed.

Vets Now is dedicated to improving the lives of pets and vets by providing emergency care when most vets' surgeries are closed. For pets, we're an out-of-hours accident and emergency service. For vets, we're trusted, expert partners providing an extension to the practice's daytime activity.

Vets Now was founded in 2001 by Richard Dixon, a veterinary surgeon who understood the stress of being on-call round the clock while trying to maintain a decent quality of life. His solution was Vets Now - a dedicated out-of-hours emergency and critical care service for pets.

Over the following years Richard and his team helped to revolutionise the way emergency veterinary care is provided outside normal surgery hours. The key to the Vets Now service is a dedicated, full-time team who only work at night, over weekends and during public holidays. We employ some of the country's leading specialists in emergency and critical care, and because of their work pattern, our staff have a wealth of experience in the field.

We have out of hours clinics across the country, as well as referral centres in Glasgow, Kent and Swindon. We've also pioneered other ways to help vets and animals, with a comprehensive referrals service, training and CPD, our canine blood transfusion charity Pet Blood Bank, and Vets2, our business support service.

It's a truly devastating condition caused by green bottle fly, and we see increasing numbers over the spring and summer months as temperatures warm up. Affected rabbits are quite literally ‘eaten alive’. #SpringHazards

Do you have to rescue your cat from the odd misshap from time to time?! Open windows in high rise flats is one potential disaster waiting to happen, and it's a common risk at this time of year: #SpringHazards

Did you know that at this time of year your dog is most likely to be bitten by an adder? That's because springtime sees them awaken from hibernation and for a few weeks they can be dozy and lash out at unsuspecting pets who disturb them: #SpringHazards

They are the scourge of spring and summer, but wasps are also a pest to cats and dogs and, in rare cases, their stings can be potentially lethal. With temperatures finally on the rise, vets are warning pet owners to *bee* on their guard: #SpringHazards

Am just canvassing opinions herer - do you feel £530 is an appropriate charge for two sutures in a dog's ear (following a bite from another dog?)
